At Yerbury we feel that we are one big family and we are a very special family because we have children and adults from many different cultures and backgrounds!

We are a very friendly school where children are encouraged to become confident, caring and articulate and to use their abilities to the full. We provide a calm and happy atmosphere and set high standards of behaviour, hard work and achievement for all children and adults. “Work hard and play well” is familiar to all of us!

We work hard to include everyone fully in everything we offer. We see everyone as special and so we value them and support them in their development as rounded individuals. We celebrate all our similarities and differences through mutual respect, work in class, assemblies, festivals, theme weeks, etc.

Yerbury is a two-form entry school for children from 3 to 11 years old. We have a lovely old Victorian building set amongst three playgrounds full of busy, happy people. We are located in an area of Victorian housing with two parks and a playing field very close by. our ground floor, where the school office and Nursery and Reception classes are located is accessible by wheelchair. The first and second floor of the building are only reachable via the use of stairs.

  • Full time places – Our day starts at 9.10am and finishes at 3.30pm.
  • Part time places – Morning 9.10am – 12.10pm or Afternoons 12.30pm – 3.30pm.

The school has an enthusiastic and committed staff who work together as a team. Class teachers work with nursery nurses and teaching assistants to meet the needs of all our children. All of us (including the school administration staff, premises manager, learning support assistants, lunchtime supervisors, cleaners, and kitchen staff) are all here to help the children develop in every way. Everyone involved with Yerbury is a valued and respected member of our school community.

We especially value the involvement of all parents and carers in the work of the school as often and in as many ways as possible. We know that such close links are very important in helping children develop and learn. Parents help in classes, on visits, with special events and in many other exciting ways.

Staff are very proud that Ofsted judged Yerbury to be an outstanding school following the last two inspections. This is a great tribute to everyone – the staff, the children, the governors, the parents and our Local Education Authority.
